Looking Up When You’re Down

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to be constantly hit with bad news and tragedies,  but continue to keep a positive outlook on things?  Why do others turn every little anything into an overly dramatic soap opera subplot?  The best place to find hope in a dire situation is on your knees.  Some people hear that and knod their head in agreement.  Others will roll their eyes,  turn on their heel,  and run in the other direction.  But just humor me for a moment.  When is the last time you prayed?  I’m not talking about “God bless the meat.  Alright,  y’all,  let’s eat.”  And I don’t mean whispering “Please,  please,  please!”while doing your scratch tickets.  I mean really praying with a sense of urgent need.  It’s usually not until we’re in trouble,  scared,  or facing a really bad situation.  Most people don’t really give prayer a chance.  I wonder what would happen if we gave everything to God in prayer?  What if we let Him handle all the hard stuff and we just trust that He has our well being at hand?  We might be surprised by the peace and optimism can experience even through the worst of life.  So,  now I want to challenge you a bit.  How about for the next 30 days we give God a chance.  Let’s pray about everything no matter how big or small,  and watch how God handles it for us.  I have included a prayer list for you to download at the end of the post.  Print off a copy and keep track of all your prayer requests.  At the end of the 30 days,  come back and leave a comment on your experiences.  I’m looking forward to hearing how God works in your life!   Prayer List PDF   1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
